The Story of Ilyra Starweaver
Ilyra was born hearing the Weave before Lumenveil had a name for it.
As a child she described distant bells whenever strangers entered the village, and could identify which rune-workers were approaching by the intervals between tones no one else could hear. Lumenveil’s scholars eventually realised she was perceiving resonance patterns as music.
She trained as a spirit-attuner rather than a conventional mage. Ilyra does not command an Arena. She listens until she finds the note the place is already holding, then joins it. When Spirit is the primary demand, Attune becomes almost effortless: her own resonance settles into the battlefield’s rhythm and the contest seems to make room for her.
Her Beast classification comes from what happens during deep attunement. Luminous antler-like arcs rise from her silhouette, her pupils become star-shaped and her shadow moves a fraction behind her body. Whether this is transformation or a spirit overlapping her remains unresolved.
The first stable Thread she encountered produced a chord so powerful Ilyra collapsed laughing.
She entered the Convergence because the music did not sound random. She believes the Threads are part of a composition.
The unsettling question is whether someone is playing it.
