The Story of Cipher Warden
Cipher Warden guards secrets by making theft useless.
Neon Kairo’s sealed combat archive contains techniques, biometric keys and strategic models too dangerous to leave on public networks. Ordinary encryption failed because talented thieves could steal the encrypted system and attack it elsewhere.
Cipher Warden was built as the answer.
Its core ability never exists in one complete place. Any attempt to copy or steal it produces a convincing but false branch, then another, then another, each increasingly tailored to the intruder’s assumptions. By the time a thief believes they have the routine, they are usually studying a trap designed specifically for them.
The Warden’s physical body is understated: matte armour, no corporate branding, minimal weaponry. The threat is informational.
It became a Guardian after an infiltrator successfully entered the archive and then spent six hours stealing fabricated files while Cipher Warden quietly evacuated the real data around them.
The Convergence created a new concern. Some foreign abilities imitate without using conventional information channels at all. Cipher Warden entered the Arenas to test whether identity itself could be stolen across Shards.
So far, the answer appears to be “not mine.”
