The Story of Sister Solace
Sister Solace serves in Lumenveil’s House of Unfinished Outcomes, where disputes are brought when neither side can prove the other wrong.
The House has no judges. Instead, its attendants preserve choices long enough for consequences to become visible.
Solace became famous during the Twin Heir Crisis, when two claimants produced equally valid prophetic signs. Rather than select one, she suspended the decision for seven days. During that time one claimant tried to bribe a witness and resolved the argument personally.
That is how Solace thinks about ties.
A tied duel is not a failure of scoring. It is a temporary surplus of possibility. Mend Fate lets her draw a new option and discard another before the next round, representing the careful pruning of futures that remains after certainty fails.
As a Guardian, she protects people from premature conclusions more often than from weapons. Her soft voice and unremarkable frame have caused many challengers to underestimate her. They usually discover that patience can be a form of control.
Solace entered the Convergence reluctantly. Too many worlds touching at once creates exactly the sort of unresolved outcome she has spent a lifetime studying.
She calls it “the largest tie anyone has ever mishandled.”
