The Story of Azure Djinn

The Azure Djinn was not summoned from a bottle.

It emerged from a blue crystal storm in the Glass Expanse already bound to a sentence nobody remembers speaking.

Unlike the wish-spirits of old stories, Azure obeys wording rather than ownership. A promise, blessing or favourable condition can be refracted through its crystalline body and intensified—but only once before the internal geometry resets.

That limitation is why Wish Twist changes a modest +1 into +2 rather than granting anything freely. Azure cannot invent advantage. It can only make an existing possibility more exact, more fortunate or more dangerous.

The spirit has developed a reputation for literal humour. A merchant once asked for “a road with no obstacles” and found himself standing on a perfectly smooth path that ended at a cliff.

Azure’s equal Mind and Spirit reflect the tension between clever interpretation and whatever passes for conscience in a being made of light and contract.

The Convergence interests Azure because Threads behave like promises without visible speakers. They connect two places and imply that travel is permitted.

Azure wants to know who made the promise.
