The Story of Velvet Fang

Velvet Fang hunts powerful opponents because weak blood tells her almost nothing.

She belongs to a Nocturne vampire house famous for breeding etiquette into predation. Velvet was trained to read pulse, posture and fear from across a ballroom long before anyone put a blade in her hand.

The title came from a habit of wearing soft red gloves over claws sharp enough to open armour seams.

Blood Scent is not literal thirst alone. Against physically powerful prey, the body produces stronger chemical and spiritual signals: heavier heartbeat, hotter circulation, more obvious intent. Velvet reads those cues and becomes faster because the opponent is easier to anticipate.

She became a Specialist after refusing her family’s political marriage and joining the city’s sanctioned duelling circuit instead. The scandal lasted years. Velvet enjoyed every minute.

Her Spirit is low because she avoids causes larger than personal choice. Loyalty, faith and duty all look suspiciously like cages to her.

The Convergence brought something she had never expected: opponents whose blood does not behave like blood at all.

Machines disappoint her.
