The Story of Nebula Child

Nebula Child was discovered inside a gas nursery with no ship, suit or recorded arrival.

Celestium miners detected a human-shaped heat signature drifting through clouds dense with charged particles. The child was alive, calm and surrounded by a halo of luminous dust that moved with their breathing.

No biological records matched.

No language did either, at first.

Years of education revealed unusual intelligence but something stranger beneath it: when every measurable part of a contest ties, Nebula Child’s Spirit asserts itself before normal tiebreaks. The effect feels less like courage and more like an old certainty briefly surfacing.

The Warrior classification came from the child’s own choice. After being treated as a research subject for too long, they demanded combat training simply because nobody expected it.

Celestium still does not know whether Nebula Child is a person born somewhere else, a stellar organism imitating one or the result of an event that has not happened yet.

The Convergence changed one thing.

For the first time, Nebula Child recognised a Thread on sight.

They called it “home-road.”

Then refused to say which direction home was.
